Statement of Faith

The courses taught by our Professors do not necessarily reflect the beliefs of Fountain

Gate Church or of the administration of Monteagle Institute of Theology.  M.I.T.

welcomes various interpretations of scripture and it will be left up to each student

to determine truth beyond the following basic Biblical Doctrine:

   1.     We believe the Holy Bible is the divinely inspired, inerrant Word of God.

   2.     We believe in the Holy Trinity, the Triune God who is made up of three persons:

the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

   3.     We believe that God the Father is totally perfect, eternal, and all powerful in all

his ways. He is worthy to be exalted, worshipped, praised, and obeyed.

   4.     We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life before God

and man, and that he died and rose from the dead and sits in heaven at the right

           hand of the Father.

   5.     We believe in the sacrificial and redemptive power of Jesus Christ’s death and

resurrection in providing forgiveness for man’s sins and in providing eternal life

           for believers.

   6.     We believe that our personal salvation will never be attained through our own works,

but rather only through our personal identification in the death, burial, and resurrection

of Jesus Christ. Thus, salvation is gained through personal faith in our being born-

           again in Jesus Christ.

   7.     We believe that the Holy Spirit has been sent as our teacher and our comforter. The

Holy Spirit convicts men of their sins and provides regeneration and gifts to the Body

           of Christ.

   8.     We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, with evidence of speaking in tongues, as

a separate, distinct experience which a person receives in faith subsequent to their

salvation experience. Intolerance to speaking in tongues is contrary to sound Biblical

           doctrine and is not tolerated.

   9.     We believe that there is a real, living enemy to the Kingdom of God, a being called Satan

and his followers who steal, kill, and destroy.

   10.   We believe in the defining and completed work of our High Priest, Jesus Christ, who

has provided direct access to the Father for His people.

Please note that no course material taught at Monteagle Institute of Theology will

contradict, or oppose, these fundamentals of the Christian faith... however, opposing

of false doctrines may be presented when appropriate, (for example in teaching how

to overcome Mormon or Jehovah Witness heresy that one may encounter as a part of

the subject matter of an apologetics course).
